I knew this was coming, like I said after the late night meal and beers. No big deal. Weighing in every single day leads to ups and downs. As long as there are not lots of ups in a row, it's all good. I'm confident that I'll go the other direction tomorrow.
Breakfast - I had a protein bar and a rice krispie treat. I was up at 4:55am with Joey III and didn't eat until after 8. I needed a little extra. :-)
Snack - another RIce Krispie Treat. My 90 calorie happiness that's in my snack box at school.
Lunch - I finished up the Mac & Cheese from the pizzas I made the other day. Remember - STAGE 1 - portion control and eating "at home," while making some better choices fairly often. So for this particular meal, I'll call it portion control. We made that one big box of Mac & Cheese. Used it for a pizza topping, a lunch for Kristyn and 2 lunches for me. THAT is certainly portion control for me! That would be at maximum - 2 meals for me usually. More like a meal and a large snack. :-) So while the choice of food was not great, it was cheap and it lasted a long time.
Snacking - gosh, I really just can't remember what the heck I ate yesterday. Probably not much because I knew Oppy was coming with food for dinner!
Dinner - So Oppy, his wife Mrs. Oppy and his daughter Mini-Oppy came for dinner last night. He had made black bean quesadillas and posted it on Facebook a few weeks ago and he said: "ok great - I want to meet Giuliana, so I'll make them and bring it over for dinner one night - what day is good?" He made an offer I could not refuse!
So they came with their black bean quesadillas with obviously black beans, cheese, cilantro, onions, Oppy's special taco sauce, and lots of other tasty delights in there that I forget. They were AWESOME! I also had my fair share of tostitos with the meal and a Blue Moon. I thought I took a picture of the awesome meal, BUT alas - I did not. :-( Here's a photo of the Oppy's meeting Giuliana, instead!
Snacking - Ok, this is where things went off the rails. You see, when you invite people over and they bring dinner, you really should be at least supplying dessert. Now in our cabinets and fridge were the following items:
- chocolate sprinkles (large)
- rainbow sprinkles (large)
- rainbow sprinkles (small)
- many colors of sugary sprinkles
- hot fudge
- whipped cream
- m&ms
- cookies (that Alice Opperman brought - which were amazing!)
So what is the one thing missing? You guessed it! We got some ice cream and went for it with some ice cream sundaes.
I made mine, but really - in all honesty - although I did use the sprinkles, the hot fudge, the m&ms, the cookie, and the peanut butter chocolate ice cream, it was a MUCH smaller amount than I usually have. I usually just eat out of the carton and I gotta be honest, it does not go well when I do that! There is no real way to defend this except for the portion control part and the fact that I have not had ice cream in 3.5 weeks. Coming from nearly every night - I'm good. :-)
So that was my day. Now let's be honest - I am writing this at 12:45 the next day. I already know what the scale said and I am going to tell you that I lost weight today! I know, sounds crazy considering the ice cream binge, but that is just an insight to my past eating habits that I can lose weight on a day that I had an ice cream sundae as the last thing I ate at night.
I suppose that the big thing about it is that I ate it before 8pm. Trust me, I know that I will not lose again tomorrow if I eat ice cream sundaes again tonight. BUT a carefully placed amazing dessert here and there - in the long run - not a bad thing. Plus, I had to be a good host. :-) mwahahahahahahaha. Say what you want - I've lost 10 pounds in less than a month while barely exercising. I'm happy.
Stage 2 coming . . . . . . . . . maybe another week or 2.
