Day 17 - Happy 4th Of July

Starting Weigh-In - Total - down 7.9lbs.  (-0.8 from yesterday)
Once again, this was a late weight in - around 10am.  RIght before my shower.  I gotta get this weigh-in earlier, but hey, I'll take it for now.  :-)

Breakfast - Granola Bar - on the way out to the parade.  The morning really got by me today!

Lunch - We had a late lunch at the grill today.  Made some nice hamburgers, a small baked potato with ketchup and corn on the cob with salt and pepper.  It was a GREAT meal.  Really enjoyed it and felt very "4th of July-ee."  :-)

Snacking - STRAWBERRIES!  Sooooo good!  Also another granola bar.

Dinner - Leftover macaroni with meat sauce.  Nothing special.  Less than I ate last night, which is good.

Snacking - I had 1.5 servings of Goldfish late at night.  Was REALLY hungry and needed something!  But at least I portioned it off this time!

Thoughts for the day:
So I was coming through the kitchen this afternoon and I had a thought.  It's been over 2 weeks since I've had ANY candy at all!  No Reese's, no Hershey bars, 3 musketeers, peanut M&Ms, you name it.  Then I started to realize more.  2 1/2 weeks no Dunkin.  2 1/2 weeks no 7-Eleven.  2 weeks - no pizzeria (yes pizza - homemade, but none at the restaurant.)  Only 2 beers in 3 weeks.  No fast food for 3 weeks.  No Chipotle, no Blaze for 3 weeks.  No Ice Cream for 2 1/2 weeks.  No Diners.  No Chicken Fingers. No French Fries.  No Buffalo Wings.  No heat lamp of death.  no Red Bull.  No regular sized bagels.

This was all a regular part of my every day diet.  There was no thought of an apple or strawberries.  There was no putting cauliflower into a meal just for the sake of it.  It was 2-3 diet sodas, a slurpee and a red bull every day.  It was 2 slices of pizza, garlic knots and a root beer 3-4x a week.  Bagel, Donut + Red Bull for breakfast every day.

Now I look forward to figuring out what I'm gonna cook today.  What am I gonna do to make today a little different than yesterday.  I'm getting more confident in my cooking (oven, stove top AND grill.)  I'm getting out from the beneath the bad habits and in with some new ones.  Having fun and showing pride in the work I'm doing, getting healthier and luckily, losing a couple of pounds too!

This is all a part of stage 1.  Stage 2 is not TOO far away.  To be honest, I'm kinda morphing a little into stage 2 by mistake, but that's ok.  I won't stop the forward progress.  I know that my streak of the weight going down slightly every day is going to end.  I won't be disturbed by it.  I will not tell you my starting weight yet, but I will tell you that my goal is 50 pounds.  Yup - that's 6 Guilianas or almost two and a half Joey IIIs.   If I really work hard, I think I can get to 25 by the end of the summer if I keep it up, get to stage 2 and pick up the exercising.

The hardest thing in the end will be to keep it up forever!  I have lost weight before, but clearly never have I kept it off.   I'll worry about that when the time comes.  For now, I just need to get there!

Happy 4th of July!  Check in tomorrow!
