Day 13 - Broccoli and Carrots . . . . .

Weight Loss Total: -5.9lbs (even from yesterday)

Breakfast: Today I had a breakfast sandwich.  Everything Bagel Thin + 2 egg whites + 1 Whole Egg + 3 turkey sausage links.  The total is 285 calories, even though it sounds like a lot.  Also a glass of Trop 50 OJ.   It was VERY good.  Really enjoyed this sandwich today!

Lunch: - Cold Cut sandwich - Turkey, Pepperoni and Yellow American Cheese on an everything bagel thin.  Toasted in the George Foreman Grill - makes it just a little better than a regular cold cut sandwich.  :-) Yum Yum give me Sum!

Snacking: - NONE SO FAR!  I was expecting this to be a rough one.  We went to the Bergen County Irish Festival at Overpeck Park.  Last year when I was there, I had my first CALLAHAN'S Hot Dog and even as a Clifton guy, I deemed this the best hot dog I ever had in my life.  I left the house with a couple of packaged snacks for myself to try to stay away from all of this.  As we were driving there, I decided that I was going to have a Callahan's hot dog and I was going to be happy about it.  Yup - I would break my streak and it was ok.  Get there . . . . . .  No Callahan's Truck!  Not only that, I forgot to eat the snacks I had packed!  I did have a Red Gatorade.  Technically, it's the first food or drink that I have bought since we left the hospital.  It was 95 freaking degrees out.  I needed a drink and packing one would not help because it was 95 freaking degrees out!  So there was no way around that one.

Dinner: - ooh, this was a good one!  Marinaded some pork in a Cajun sauce overnight.  Cooked that up in a frying pan with egg noodles and some roasted green peppers.  This was a delicious meal!!!  Nothing special, but mixing it up with the different meats, sauces and a variety of veggies is going to help me keep this going a long time.

Usually, I'll end up having Broccoli and Carrots, Broccoli and Carrots, Broccoli and Carrots.  Chicken stir fry with broccoli and carrots.  Steak with broccoli and carrots. Grilled chicken with broccoli and carrots.  I get bored.  It used to be the only veggies I would make.  Now I'm into more of a variety of stuff, it certainly helps.  If anyone knows a cool way to season the peppers besides cooking them over a little olive oil, please let me know!  I want the peppers to be a little more interesting next time.

Snacking:  Ok, first on my list of snacks for the night was  plate of . . . . .  . . STRAWBERRIES!  Yup, I had a snack that was fruit.  It was amazing!  I forgot how much I loved strawberries!  Next, I had some cheddar cheese with ritz crackers.  And then a couple handfuls of Kristyn's popcorn.  THe late night snacking is the hardest part these days.  BUT I'm being careful not to stock ice cream in the house as that is my biggest snacking problem.
