Day 8 has arrived and we were going to be out for most of the day, so this was going to be a challenge! Let's see how it went, shall we?
Breakfast: For breakfast, I had a nice complete breakfast. 2 scrambled eggs, 3 turkey sausage links, 2 slices of buttered toast and Lite OJ. I've been calling it Trop 50 all week, which is what I usually get. BUT Simply Orange was cheaper by $2 this week, so I tried it. I did not like it as much as Trop 50.
All that being said, it was a monumental week because with this meal, I actually finished the entire container of orange juice. This may have never happened in my life. Usually, I get the OJ, drink from it once and then it gets banished to the back of the fridge never to be thought of again until an undisclosed amount of time that is clearly more than the prescribed 8 day shelf life of OJ once it's opened. Then I get creeped out by it and throw 90% of the orange juice down the drain, effectively wasting $3-$5 every damn time. But not this time! I finished it and I felt like I really accomplished something. I was so impressed with myself, I took a picture!LUNCH: My nephew, Zack, had his 7th birthday party. It started at 11am because we had to get back home in time for Joey's basketball in the early evening. So we went to the spray park and then headed back to Karen & Eric's house. They ordered pizza. Now we all know that I am not the biggest pizza guy . . . . .
ok, ok . . . .you caught me. I LOVE PIZZA! So this was going to be tough. They got the "Triple Threat" pepperoni pizza with a calzone and garlic knots built into it. This was certainly a copy of the great stuff that "Joe's Rotisseria" does in Roselle and Asbury Park. Great idea - not exactly the BEST pizza I've ever had, but I definitely still enjoyed it. After all, it is pizza!

These slices were very thin, very small and square. I had 2.5 pieces and 1 garlic knot. This is a monumental victory for me. 2.5 slices probably was more equal to about 1.25 slices of regular pizza. I'm really pumped with my control here.
I also had about 20 Cheez-it Grooves before lunch. Again, this was a huge victory. I would have usually just kept picking until the bowl was empty.
BTW - The basketball that we had to get back for - the reason they started the party early for us - it was canceled due to rain! So we stayed in Basking Ridge a few extra hours. Was a nice relaxing day! (I may or may not have slept for an hour on my sister's couch . . . . . . . you can decide if that really happened or not.)
